As one of the Internal Affairs Coordinators, I manage event logistics for numerous events and consolidate relevant information on McMaster Engineering events, resources and programs into a monthly newsletter, distributed to McMaster Engineering students.
As a Recruitment and Promotions Assistant, I collaborate and manage relationships with students and staff across six committees to increase outreach for the Faculty of Engineering. I also aid in facilitating relationships between incoming first year students and current senior students.
As a Web Development Project Team member, I work alongside my team to regularly maintain the McMaster Artificial Intelligence Society website. Moreover, I participate in weekly meetings with a team of developers to practice agile software development.
As a coding mentor, I teach a group of 10 to 20 middle school/high school students to program using Elm in online Coding Camps hosted by McMaster University. Moreover, as a coding mentor I provide general coaching on resources and strategies for technical upskilling. This program allows for students to be exposed to programming at a young age to create animations they love.
As the Clubs Coordinator, one of the student executives, I aid in planning technical workshops and networking events, with support from other clubs and societies to help students acquire skills in software development and computer science. As a Club Coordinator, I act as a liaison between McMaster Engineering and other student associations to provide events and logistics support.
I am currently a Women in Engineering member as well as a WIE ambassador. As a member, I attend the numerous workshops held by WIE as well the get togethers to de-stress during the school year. As an ambassador, I retun to my former high school to encourage female students to pursue pathways in STEM!
I have been training in Indian Classical Dance since the age of 6 at Laya Bhava Dabce Academy. I have also had the opportunity to embrace personal interests and South Asian culture, working as an educator at Sahana Dance Company to choreograph dance routines and help students prepare for community performances.Additionally, I have exhibited leadership and creativity while working alongside other educators, to design weekly lesson plans for a class of 30 students, ranging in age from 4-18.
In August 2021, a part of Vivritti Dance Company based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, I achieved a record for the most people performing a choreographed dance simultaneously.
I wanted to take up a new language and learning about databases has always been on my list. I sucessfully completed this SQL course, received an certificate and expanded my skillset!
The McMaster Honour Award presented to students who maintained a high school average above 90 percent.
As a McMaster Engineering Ambassador, I participate in numerous committees and communicate with both current and incoming students to guide them in their journey in university.
This accomplishment is awarded to students who have maintianed a GPA over 3.50 cumatively for the past academic year at McMaster University.
I recieved first place at the Nationals for an Indian Classical Dance Competition. I trained numerous months and am so happy to have had the opportunity to experience this.
As a WIE Ambassador, I had the opportunity to go back to my high school (virtually) and encourage female students of all grades to consider going into an engineering or any STEM related career pathway as well as shared my university experience thus far.
